The online project below is only a preview
of the final 48 page report that
was completed for magazine print.
Having commuted to and from school or
work most of my life, I have first-hand
experience with the difficulties of driving
long distances every day. Driving inhibits
you from getting work done on your way
in to work, and from relaxing on the way
home. Taking a bus gives you the free
time, but the accommodations are usually
less than adequate. One of the biggest
detriments to working on a bus, is using
up your batteries.
With new wireless charging components,
creating an autonomous home-like interior
gives you the advantages of work/relaxation
space and the ease of seamless technology.
During my time with Daimler’s Design
Center in Portland, Oregon, I was
tasked with production based projects
like meeting with potential suppliers to
select materials, and collaborating
with engineers on data sheets
and content collection.
My intern project for the 6 months was
to create branding insight for Freightliner,
and put together a Color, Materials, and
Finishes outlook for future interiors concepts.
In March of 2018, I traveled to Haiti
for an alternative spring break trip
with fellow CCS students. We immersed
ourselves in the art world through
teaching lessons to young children,
and learning from the artisans of Jacmel.
Throughout my trip, about 90% of my
photos were taken on a Polaroid camera.
I gave over half of my pictures to
locals and children.
In this project, I showcase a few original
Polaroid photographs and the color palette
I chose to represent my time spent there.
In this internship project, six students
were tasked with redesigning a Stryker
command vehicle interior. Because
this project was semi-confidential, I do
not have specific details available here.
If you wish to see them, I am able to
individually send a portfolio segment
for private purposes.
A few months after the final completion,
we were contacted by the military and
shown photos of our prototypes in the field.
We received great feedback from the
soldiers and engineers who were in direct
contact with the project.
